Every Saturday until the beginning of August, there is the Montreal International Firework Competition which  showcases fireworks from different countries as part of the annual summer pyrotechnic competition here. My friends and I headed to Papineau metro station where there is a bridge that is vacated for people to sit and watch the show at night. We arrived late and weren’t able to catch the sight of the fireworks from the bridge (which apparently has the best view near the end of the bridge), so we opted for a view beneath the bridge. Switzerland did a fantastic job that night and showcased many fireworks I never seen before, such as these swirly ones, and these ones falling like a waterfall. Their transitions between each set of fireworks took a little long though.

After church on Sunday at Mont-Royal , an area known for local restaurants, cafes, shops and boutiques to shop at (and easily accessible by the metro as well), I was recommended to a renown and popular restaurant here known as Romados. They are known for their take out or eat in Portuguese style rotisserie chicken. Their menu catered to a friendly budget and you could get ¼, ½ or a full portion of a chicken with the option of making it a meal with salad, LOTS of fries, a bun, and a Portuguese egg tart before 2pm while quantities last (THE BEST PART!). Their portions are quite big and I couldn’t even finish the ¼ meal I got . They also had a bakery consisting of a variety of delicious looking pastries, cakes and baked goods.
